Hyatt Place Merida/Via Montejo

"Everyone and everything was perfect for the 2 weeks we were there. However, the only minor issue I would say that has nothing to do with staff but rather infrastructure, are the ac units (not bad enough to complain about though) .They sit above the door, inside the ceiling behind the vent. And it appeared that housekeeping had the obligation to vacuum out the water every other day (hence the requirement for them to check room every other day), since on the days that I’d skip or if I went over 2 days, you’d here water drops in the background. Usually on the days when water was clearly heard, we’d wake up w a lot of humidity inside the room. Immediately after room service and throughout the next 24 hours, air was crispy cold. So my recommendation would be not to skip housekeeping if possible. Otherwise, excellent stay and very very comfortable. Hotel sits directly across the street of the American embassy. Oxxo (similar to 7-11) sits immediately next to hotel and then there’s Harbor Mall w restaurants within walking distance. Excellent location and it was a pleasure to return back to our room at the end of the day. Definitely top hotel in my opinion."

"I had a wonderful week-long stay at Playa Linda Hotel. Super clean, super friendly, super safe. The people who work there, and in the nearby areas, are kind and thoughtful. Grocery is incredibly close, fancy restaurants and simple delicious food as well. Perfect location on the beach. Palapas available right out front :) I would suggest getting a room with some kind of an ocean view because it is just beautiful and nice to sit and listen on the patio. Also, parking was on the street. Free and safe- except for a coconut falling lol. The AC worked so well I had to grab a little blanket to snuggle up in. Fridge and freezer worked excellently. Not wet or smells- just right. - I guess they could provide a kettle, that was the only thing I was missing but I never asked for one and I’m sure they have them- they offered extra kitchen items but I said I was just fine. Overall, thanks Playa Linda for an amazing week and I hope to visit you again soon!"

"The place is clean, extremely comfortable and friendly the owner and the staff always very helpful and very supportive on what you need. This place is away from any town to relax, but there are taximotos, busses, and taxis that visitors can take just out side of the Jaal Kab cabañas and they drop you off there too."
