Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA

10/10 Excellent

Great rooms with closet and Japanese style bathroom. Availability of laundry machines shown on TV channel. Great breakfast buffet. Japanese garden on 9th floor. Very responsive front desk. Great hotel for bad weather - you never need to go outside. Giant quality restaurant food hall on 8th floor. The mall / Yodobashi on floors B1 thru 8 can be accessed by escalator from the lobby, and there is a secret door that directly connects the hotel B1 elevator lobby to the grocery store in the mall,...

It a very nice no frills hotel; no fancy lobby or restaurant or bar. The room was clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable; almost too low for what you got. But note that even though it advertises an airport shuttle, it runs on a limited schedule, so check on that. Or plan to take the train, which is only one station from the airport. I would have had to wait over 3 hours for the next shuttle, so I hopped on the train. The hotel is just outside the train station.

I think the one thing everyone needs to realize before booking is that this is a love hotel. While it wouldn't be the most family-friendly place if you're travelling with kids, if you're travelling by yourself or with a friend or spouse and don't mind certain channels on TV or unusual room amenities, it's a great alternative to some of the expensive other hotels. The room was very, very clean. It said it was smoking, but we couldn't smell any hint of smoke. The bed was super comfortable, and...

The good: Very close to a train station. Room is clean. High Speed Internet. After I complained about bad smell in my room, a staff did air spray right away. The bad: Bad smell came back not long after air spray, had to open window to get some fresh air, but outside was noisy as it is close to a big road and a train station. The horrible: In the evening of my check-in date, his hotel sent me an email saying: "The front desk is closed at 22:00. If you do not check in by this time, your...
