Beautiful Turn of the Century Home with Pet Friendly Yard
10/10 Excellent
"On December 20, a tree fell and crushed the front of our motorhome. We needed another plan for our annual January 1 State of Our Union trip. We knew nothing about Martinez, except that John Muir had lived there. We found this place was available, lovely and had a nice fenced yard for our dog. Dustin was very responsive, answered all our questions and made our reservation, check in and stay simple. The apartment is complete, part of a century old house, with a good kitchen, comfortable bed and nice bath. The location is great; a quick walk to the John Muir National Historic Site, and a few minutes drive to downtown Martinez. Lots to explore here, good hiking and beautiful views from the hills. We'll be back!"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was as advertised- amenities, location etc. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. Rooms, linens, towels were fresh. We especially appreciated the location - quiet day and night for both work and relaxing. Alex was an excellent host. He communicated well, was thorough in helping us prepare for visit and leave property at the end of or stay. He was quick to answer questions and flexible with our travel details. Highly recommend!"
"Nice house- clean and comfortable, good location close to town and we felt safe there. I would suggest dimmers on the kitchen & dining room lights (too bright!). We were able to bring our 2 dogs (a big ) but our older arthritic dog had a hard time managing the rather steep yard! All the rain we had added to the problem. Host was quick to respond to garbage issue. Overall a good place to stay."
"Downtown Martinez is fun at night, but the location of this RV is awful. A lot of shady folks out and about, the lot is shared with a run down auto shop. Also, I was not familiar with TV camping. Is the water drinkable (still not sure), use of shower required preheating for 20-30 minutes, turning on the pump, how to use the heating /air conditioning, Bluetooth speakers, etc. The landlord really should have a manual for the visit, would have made the visit much better. The key pad door lock is super finicky, resulting in me being was locked out for over an hour.
