We enjoyed our overnight at the Sofia. We arrived around 2pm and were able to get our room right away. The room was a bit small, but was stylish and comfortable. We were too early to try out the dinner menu at the restaurant Truvo (Mediterranean style) unfortunately, but had a lovely breakfast there the following day. Guests get a discount. The front desk staff member was also able to give us an additional hour at check out when we asked. The venue was centrally located and very walkable to places and events. We went to a baseball game (Padres won!) and visited the Navy Seal Museum which is very good and more interactive than we anticipated. We will go again and bring the grandchildren. Our only chagrin was that the air conditioning was louder than we’d have liked and blew onto the bed. I would advise wearing an eye mask so that it doesn’t blow onto the eyes.

Clean room

Great boutique hotel. Room was basic but clean and had everything I needed. The breakfast in the restaurant was outstanding! Staff was professional and friendly. I loved the 24/7 coffee/tea/water station and the secret garden courtyard.

We stayed at the InterContinental San Diego by IHG during the Fourth of July weekend. We booked a Premium Room with a king bed and a city view but ended up with a partial city and harbor view (Room 1737). We were very happy with this, as we had a clear view of the 250th fireworks display from our floor-to-ceiling windows. We stayed at the hotel for four nights, and the housekeeping was only adequate at best. On a few occasions, dirty plates and glasses were left in the room without being taken away or replaced with clean ones. Additionally, the bed and pillows definitely need to be replaced, as the bed was sagging and the pillows were too flat. Overall, the room was fairly clean, and for us, the bathroom's cleanliness is very important, which was a plus. The best part was the convenience of the parking, especially when you have a rental car. It is very easy to get in and out and to access the highways. Two things that may have been missed are the $23-per-day credits from the amenities fee that can only be redeemed at the three restaurants, which we didn’t get to use at all. Additionally, there is no refrigerator in the room, and there is an additional $30 fee when you request one.
