"Great property, was a good experience being able to stay in a more traditional home away from big hotels and further from the tourist areas of Jiufen. The home was fully stocked with everything we needed and the extra food and drinks were appreciated. The only issue we had was that the location on Google Maps was not accurate and we got lost trying to find it the first time; however afterwards we realized it was actually in a great spot not too far from the Old Street. "Best value for the price in Taipei, convenient location right across from MRT, two stops from HSR. Hotel offers large size room with all amenities, staff are pleasant and efficient, breakfast is amazing, I would stay there again!"
"I loved this hotel; we stayed there for five days and were sad to leave. Wi-Fi works really well. The staff are courteous. The environment is clean and comfortable. It is also accessible by bus and within a short distance from the MRT. Bring warm sleeping clothes because the rooms are very cold ❄️. Management told us the air temperature was unadjustable (even though there is a thermostat in the room), but they provided a portable heater which helped warm the room—no other complaints. Staff can also speak some English, which was a huge plus. "
"We stayed at the Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei in a Grand Deluxe Family Room for seven nights, and it was a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, with plenty of space for three friends traveling together. The beds were cozy, and there was ample room for luggage, making it ideal for a longer stay. Everything was clean and relaxing, though the room could use a bit more lighting.
The staff were warm and professional. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and they even helped celebrate a birthday with a special treat, which was such a thoughtful touch. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of local Taiwanese dishes, a noodle bar, Indian and Asian options, and Western selections — all delicious and beautifully presented. The room was also well stocked with bottled water and Nespresso coffee, which we appreciated.
The rooftop pool and hot tub offered incredible city views, and the hotel is connected to a shopping mall, with the Marco Polo Lounge being a great spot for drinks. The location was decent for the metro (about an 8–16 minute walk depending on the line), and getting around by Uber or taxi was very easy. Inside, the hotel was peaceful and relaxing. Some concierge staff were excellent, while others seemed a bit inexperienced when we needed suggestions during six days of heavy rain.
Overall, the Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei delivers large rooms, great comfort, and warm hospitality."
