Mannar Fort

The pick up had been arranged but not there on arrival so sent a whatsapp message. Replied and gave directions as to where they would pick me up and they found me. To use the airport wifi, I would recommend going to the info desk in arrivals (where drivers have name cards) and use the QR scan at the desk as didnt need passport info etc as required for other wifi. Just be aware that when you walk outside for pick up you loose it.. and the poor driver couldnt contact me. Room was big as was the bathroom which looked great. Small TV compared to room but wifi was excellent so just streamed!! It was so big it probably could take a couple of comfy chairs. Breakfast was excellent and quick and I had dinner there as well which was once again excellent quick and reasonably priced. Try the Chicken fried rice! Really impressed with the return back to the airport at 0130 in the morning as they had a breakfast bag for me which I wasnt expecting. Nice touch from this small hotel!

Fabulous room, very tastefully appointed, with a huge bed and good size en-suite shower room. The staff are, without exception, friendly helpful and obliging. The architecture is unusual, attractive and interesting, with a little bit of a safari lodge feel to it. The villa is a little bit remote but there is easy access to local facilities via taxi, or Tuk Tuk. Our only slight disappointment was the limited range of choice from the menu available in the evenings and the portions were sometimes less than might be expected. In summary, a fabulous place to relax for a few days among quiet surroundings and you may be lucky to have some interesting wildlife visitors.
