"Hotel staff is always welcoming and helpful and beds are super comfy. Hotel is located in a very convenient area when visiting areas around Wirral and a nice stop when travelling further south and free parking on site. "

"It was an average larger hotel but we felt a bit disappointed by our stay, unlikely to return. The room was next to a dual carriage way and noisy with the cars/smelt of petrol fumes, when requesting a change of room we didn’t get much response. The place was generally a bit run down. The breakfast was ok but limited to traditional cereals and an average cooked breakfast- little choice for vegetarians, continentals or those who wish for more healthy options. "

"Didnt even stay, checked in went to roo. Found mould, damp walls holes in carpet, broken TV dust everywhere. Went to reception, gave us option of room next door had a look holes in bed linen room smelled. Was asked to make a decision on what room as another family was coming soon and would have other room. Also had to pay extra to use swimming pool Ended up leaving and paying for another hotel"

"We used Stonewood as a stopping off point on our way home from our holiday on the south coast. Cannot fault it at all. The little things like milk, chilled bottled water, tea and toiletries were most welcome after a long drive. Very well looked after lodge and in a great location in an area that we love."

"We were greeted on arrival the hotel was really busy they had live music on and the place was full but the owner gave us a quick tour and assisted us with our luggage to our rooms the rooms were lovely clean and inviting everything we needed was provided shampoo bodywash nice soft towels hairdryer they brought us fresh milk in a small flask so we coukd make tea or coffee beds were comfortable in the morning we came downstairs to a wonderful continental breakfast with lots of fresh fruit fresh croissants and toast again excellent service "

"Positives:- Alpacas, sheep, and chickens are great to watch and is one of the highlights of the property- Location was great for us as we were attending Peckforton castle for a wedding. Great views as well.- Main living area was spacious with ample room and seating for all of us- Property host was not present during our stay so it felt very private- Communications with property host were fine.- Property is gated so feels secure- Can’t really comment on hot tub as wasn’t used, but it looked fineNegatives:- The en-suite shower fluctuates in temperature and I was almost scalded by it even though the temperature gauge was set in the middle. This is a serious and dangerous concern and I would highly recommend looking into it. I wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt.- Some of the furniture is a little tired and dated such as the beds. I expected something a little more premium for the price paid.- Same can be said for the bed linen and towels provided.- Cleanliness in some areas did not live up to expectations, such as the en-suite wet room. In particular, the tiles and grouting looked a bit neglected.- Pool table needs re-felting as there were holes in the felt.- Kitchen lacks suitable cookware when cooking for more than 2-3 guests.- Overall I found the value to be on the lower side compared with similar places that I have stayed at."

"We had an amazing stay here for a hen do with a group of 16. The property was spotless, incredibly spacious, and perfect for a large group—everyone having their own en suite made such a difference. The kitchen is massive, which was ideal for cooking and socialising, and the driveway is also huge, making parking really easy.It felt really classy and perfect for a special occasion.Caroline was a fantastic host and went above and beyond to help me make changes to the booking, which I really appreciated. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish.I’d highly recommend this property to anyone, especially for group celebrations!"
