2 night stay, would stay there again

Room on my own but other family members there, staying 2 nights for a family wedding nearby. Service all good, evening meal on one night & breakfast two mornings. I got the train & it's about 15 minutes walk from the station at Hooton. Would stay there again.

Awful beds

The hotel was really nice with lovely gardens. Our room was in a separate block and the decorations etc looked new. The bathroom was spacious and clean. there were outside tables and chairs where we could sit. However the bed was awful, lumpy, bumpy and the springs were making noises. We could not sleep and were aching all over the next day. We arrived Sunday afternoon and the kitchen closed at 5pm, so we could not get anything to eat in the evening. We we supposed to stay on the Monday night, but we went home at 5.00pm because we did not want to spen another night on the beds.

Made very welcome by receptionist. The only criticism was the mattress was too soft. If you opened the window traffic was very noisy but other wise good.

Excellent place although a little disappointed to see they have introduced a standard 10% service charge on you food and drinks bill, I can see this putting people off eating and drinking here which is a shame because it's fantastic place.

Great service, great value

Upon arrival we immediately felt welcome and the staff were quick to be helpful. We had a light lunch which was both tasty and enjoyable before we were shown to our room. The room and en suite bathroom were clean and well presented if a little dated but that aside was spacious and comfortable. In the evening we enjoyed a very good evening meal in the hotel’s modern restaurant. The menu was not extensive but there was plenty of choice to cater for all tastes. The service was excellent, we felt as though we were important, we certainly had no complaints. After a very good night’s sleep we both enjoyed a first class breakfast. This small hotel is one which we have no hesitation in recommending and one which we will be using again.

Ok stay

Arrived after check in time of 3pm. No one at reception. Pinged the bell twice but no response. After a while we went to the bar to see if anyone around. Check in was smooth. Lady very nice Room was clean and bright. Great blackout curtains.tea and coffee making facilities etc. Did not like the tip envelope for cleaning staff tho. Bed was ok. Room far too hot so opened windows. Turned radiators down. Did not sleep well due to heat and noise from road. Food in dining room was really nice . Hotel parking spaces nice and wide. Overall an ok stay.

Comfortable - though worryingly insecure

The hotel ticked a lot of boxes and was comfortable in its furnishings. However, somehow, another guest was able to enter my room with their key card whilst I was in a state of undress. That shouldn't be possible. To be fair, I received an apology from the staff and was relocated without fuss (partly because a wedding party was due to take place below my room). I believe that reviews should expose inadequacies - after all, I rely on other people's reviews to assess where I will stay. And for those interested, no offer of restitution was made.

Why does the receipt from the hotel differ from what was paid to Hotels.com? This makes it very difficult to get reimbursed for expenses. The hotel say I need to take it up with expedia, not really helpful when I am the customer and expect a receipt to match what I have paid out

Comfortable and relaxing stay

The hotel is very convenient both to arrive by car (close to the M53) or by train. I arrived from London by train and it's only a 10 minute walk from Hooton station. I received a warm welcome and was shown to my room, which was in an annexe to the main building, overlooking the garden. The service was friendly, professional and efficient, the room was very comfortable with a modern bathroom.
