The Royal Sonesta New Orleans

"My wife and I visit Nola at least 4 times per year. We have always stayed at another hotel, but tried the Sonesta on a friend’s recommendation. This is our new home, and for many reasons. Valet parking was much easier and secure. I’ve had flat tires and car damage at the other establishment, but Sonesta has their own valets and not contracted to a third party. Location is ideal. We prefer the canal street end of Bourbon for the nightlife. The staff is amazing. Since Covid many establishments are having employee turnover, not at the Sonesta. Wilbur has been the bellman for 50 years, and he is just one example. The people are the main reason we love New Orleans, and the Sonesta is the best example of this"

"The hotel is definitely older so you know what to expect with an older hotel. However, the air-conditioning in the front part of our room, which is where the sofa, dining, etc. Was, was not working well, so we had to leave the door to the bed area open at all times or else it got in the high 80s really not an inconvenience though. We didn’t even bother reporting it. The parking area is just a bit of a walk, but definitely secure. Staff! The gentleman there, I believe his name was Doug, was amazing! He was an older gentleman and was just probably one of the best staff I’ve encountered at a hotel check-in. He was friendly from the moment we opened the door, with a large smile to greet us. He was helpful and definitely went above and beyond. You couldn’t ask for anything more. He definitely made up for the front room, not having air! He answered many questions for us, gave us directions and was just there at every turn. He represented not only the Inn well, but the city of New Orleans. The Inn on St. Peter would do well to keep him on as long as he is willing to stay! I’ll leave my comments regarding the young lady our morning of checkout to myself. Let’s just say they are the complete opposite of Mr. Doug. Anyway, I will definitely be back to stay at the Inn. Oh! Location can’t be beat!"

"10 of us stayed here for a long weekend for a bachelor party and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience! The home is gorgeous and well maintained, the location is great (close enough to walk to bars / coffee shops, but not too close to bourbon street or anything too crazy). Beth is a terrific host who always responded within minutes of we had a question. Would 100% book this place again if we’re back in New Orleans, we had an absolute blast."
