Thrissilery Shiva Temple, Wayanad

Legend has it that those who offer rituals for their ancestors at Thirunelli are aware that these proceedings aren't complete without making an offering at the historic Thrissilery Shiva Temple. Situated about 19 km from Thirunelli, the temple itself is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Popular for its unique architectural proportions and a quiet and secluded ambience, devotees and visitors alike throng to the temple in hordes. Here one also finds a small shrine of Jala Durga, located in a water body that originates from the Papanashini River near Thirunelli. Locals believe that the shrine was installed by Lord Parasurama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

"Our stay at The Taj Hotel in Wayanad was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of Wayanad’s lush green hills, the hotel offers an unparalleled sense of tranquility.
