Advantages: Very nice location. Friendly staff. Good bed and clean room. Good breakfasts. Daily happy hour. Disadvantages: light switches didn't work in room so had to switch off all electrics at night. This meant we couldn't charge our phones or use the air-conditioning at night. Shower temperature wouldn't adjust. Stairs very steep.

The Swissotel Amsterdam was a lovely place to stay. So central with a tram stop right out the front, and surrounded by hundreds of amazing food vendors. Only short tram rides to museums, Albert Cuyp, the Heineken experience and Jordaan. The staff were extra lovely. The room was a great size and was well air-conditioned for hot days. Would stay again.
