"My daughters and I were in town for a volleyball tournament and stayed at this hotel expecting a safe environment. Unfortunately, what happened during our stay was one of the most frightening experiences we’ve ever had while traveling.
In the middle of the night an intoxicated man attempted to break into our room through the adjoining door. He cracked the door during the attempt. When that failed, he kicked in the main door and forced it open, entering our room while we were sleeping.
I woke up to what sounded like an explosion. My daughters were screaming and terrified. I ran to the door, forced it shut, relocked it, and immediately called the front desk.
The front desk employee, whom I believe was named Cory, responded casually and said he would send security. It took over 30 minutes for security to arrive. When security finally came, he had no idea what had happened and was unable to assist us in any meaningful way.
From our balcony I could see the front desk area and it was clear there was no urgency in responding to a dangerous situation involving a guest being assaulted in their room.
Throughout the night there were also intoxicated guests yelling in rooms on both sides of us and people outside our balcony drinking and playing pool loudly well into the night.
My daughters are now afraid to sleep in hotels because of this experience. They also have had a hard time going to sleep at all."
