Do not stay here pictures not as shown. AGAIN DO NOT STAY HERE BAIT AND SWITCH NOT AS ADVERTISE. And Expedia nor the hotel will compensate.

Generally speaking, everything was OK. However, they provided misleading information at check-in. I was offered an upgraded room, but I had to change it because it lacked privacy—there was a connecting door to the adjacent room, and I could hear everything happening next door. On top of that, I was never told I'd be charged an extra $104 for the upgrade. I was told the upgrade would give me access to breakfast and dinner, but they charged me for the meals anyway. Then, to get the bill corrected, I had to speak with four different people. If you're reading this and you get a great deal on Expedia, keep it as is and do not accept any upgrades when you arrive. Besides being very expensive, the breakfast was the exact same food every day—and the same goes for dinner. Forget about red meat; they only served eggs, chicken, and a little bit of fish. When I asked for red meat one day, the chef told me, 'There's shredded meat over there in a bowl.' Come on, man!

Lovely historic hotel. Front reception staff is friendly and was super helpful with my Spanish being minimal. This is our favorite place to stay in Santo Domingo.Its a luxurious respite in a quiet, historic area you must see. One constructive thing is I think they need to pay more attention to the pool. Several times per day someone should clean the debris from leaves. This is a small thing and 9/10 they get it right.
