"Beautiful location, close enough to the lakes without being in the heart of the tourist trap. Perfect getaway for two, cosy with lovely views, wonderful birdsong and yet has all amenities within. Great value for money, so much so weâ€™ve now been twice and will definitely return. Pam the owner is lovely, very welcoming, yet also leaves you in peace for the duration of your time there."

"Staff were friendly and helpful. Convenient car parking. Our room was a good size but very tired decor, dust/cobwebs hanging from ceiling, bathroom very old fashioned and in serious need of modernisation. The bedroom (Room 9) overlooked a noisy courtyard and there was music playing until at least 11pm. Breakfast was very good. The hotel also sent an unnecessarily high number of messages via Expedia in the run up to our stay which was more annoying than helpful, particularly as they didn’t display properly and were mostly trying to sell upgrades to our stay."

"I recently stayed at this lovely cottage located in the village Melmerby with my puppy. The cottage was very well-equipped and comfortable - I really liked everything about it. The only downside was that the lights in the living room were a bit too bright; a dimmer switch or some additional lamps would make it cosier for the evenings. We enjoyed day trips out, and in the village, we had a lovely meal at the pub, though itâ€™s closed from Monday through Wednesday, which might impact other visitors. Note that the front garden is open, so our dog had to stay on a lead. Overall, a great stay!"

"Property was very clean and a lovely welcome of home made soda bread and ginger cake, was a treat.We found the stairs a little difficult at times, but all rooms were beautiful, characterful and homely.Shame we couldn’t use the TV due to lack of wifi but we appreciate the area has problems with signals.We would have liked some egg cups but overall it was a well stocked kitchen.Thank you for a wonderful stay."
