"Just stay here! Weve been travelling all over norway and i must say this was actually the best hotel we reserved. Beautiful original rooms, huge bath, impecable breakfast (must try their croissant and home made nutella). Oh and grab their strawberries too! The food was 10/10 we had dinner there every single night, and our server “Miko” was the best guide ever."

"Highly recommend - it was the most beautiful place we stayed at during our Norway visit. Our property was right on the Oppstrynsvatnet lake. The house was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and had all amenities - full kitchen, dining, iron, hair dryer. The house also had an in-house sauna in addition to a Panaroma sauna on the property. "L’accueil, le personnel et le restaurant sont au-dessus de tout ce que nous avons vu jusqu’à présent en Norvège. Particulièrement l’équipe en place lors de notre séjour fut exceptionnelle. La chambre donnait sur le lac en arrière, magnifique vue, nous aurions pu y rester plus longtemps. Chargeurs pour RV sur le stationnement de l’hôtel. Merci pour tout. Nous recommandons à 100%."

"This has to be one of the best hidden gems in Norway. The views are absolutely stunning, with a beautiful waterfall lookout and rooftop terrace. The hotel itself has a wonderful “old feel”. It is dated, but oozing history and well maintained. The rooms were very comfortable and very large, we easily fit our family of 4 in one of the family rooms. The breakfast was excellent and you could enjoy your coffee with magnificent views. Would highly recommend this place, especially for the views...

"Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!"
