Made great by its staff and leisure centre.

Excellent hotel, and the staff were all very helpful, friendly and polite. Our stay was fantastic. The hotel has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna which we were able to use for a small extra. The breakfast was plentiful and very good. It is a dated hotel though, so the bathroom wasn't great (our shower had poor pressure as the taps kept running even with the shower on) and the rooms could have been a bit cleaner. Breakfast is only til 9 too so a bit rushed in the morning.

Disabled parking spaces were being used by Spuddies customers who were using the takeaway. Struggled to find a space in car park and had difficulty getting out of car because of my disability. Quite a distance to hotel from car park. I got the impression that the Gym and Fitness Facilities are the part of the business that is making most money and the hotel is suffering because of this. I detest Self Check In, no service at all in a service industry? I guess thats the world we live in now. I wouldnt recommend nor return to this hotel, it pretends to be something that it isnt.

solid hotel, does what you need for good price

room was great, although decor in bathroom was a bit dated and tired. Bar was good, apart from the (clientele) and wasn't showing the football as advertised, breakfast wasnt bad apart (from the scrambled eggs)

Overall a good stay

For the price my stay was good, the staff were super friendly and welcoming, small but tasty breakfast offering and use of the leisure facilities was ideal. Only negatives were that the hotel room doors slam really loudly which you can hear every time someone comes in and out of their room, not great when trying to sleep. The lift in the main hotel area is also not great, multiple times it arrived but wouldn't go anywhere, and when I first went up to my room it opened the door half way and shut again. I resorted to the stairs for fear of getting stuck!

Had been decorated since the pictures on hotels.com loaded and looked good. Some rough edges. Nice food in the bar. Selfish parking from gym users. In disabled bays and double yellow lines. They need to clamp down on that
