"I was struggling for birthday ideas for my partner. I was thinking a short break, not too far away but something a little unusual. I stumbled across The Old Station in Petworth and booked. I have to say the weekend did not disappoint! We stayed in one of the converted Pullman carriages, beautifully restored with all the amenities we needed within our room. The first evening we ate in their on site restaurant in a Pullman Carriage. The food was excellent and the atmosphere just lovely. The breakfast was also very good in beautiful surroundings and the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend."

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Old Stables. The beds were very comfortable and everything we needed was provided. The hosts were helpful and the setting is idyllic with pheasants and wildlife all around. Close to lots of forest walks and to local pubs and to the pretty village of Petworth. We were at the cottage for almost three weeks and it felt like home when we left. Very central for a visit to West Sussex and all that it has to offer."

"We loved our stay at Sheepdown. The country side is beautiful and the cottage looks out over ‘green and pleasant’ land. It is quiet, restful and tasteful, yet an easy walk to gorgeous Petworth village with all its amenities and to wonderful Petworth House and Park. We found it a perfect location from which to explore the wonders of gorgeous West Sussex. Sheepdown is a warm and inviting cottage with a glorious, old world charm, but with the added advantage of every modern amenity. The cottage is tastefully decorated and appointed and yet its cosy ambiance makes you feel ‘at home’. We loved our stay here and plan to one day, hopefully return."

"Angel Inn is close to the centre of Petworth, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a large modern bath and separate shower and everything was very clean. We appreciated the teapot in the room and selection of teas, also the complimentary flapjack. We ate in the restaurant area of the inn and had an excellent meal. "
