The COVID-19 outbreak may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't stopped our zest for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to cope with the new challenges of traveling:

• Look into what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so don't forget to check before you lock in your flight.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA officer will ask you to lower your mask temporarily for identification purposes.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer. Rather, place your pass on the reader and then hold it up to allow the agent to visually inspect it.
• TSA is now allowing passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Put any personal items (like your phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during screening.
• If you're planning to take food on the plane, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to touch your food container or carry-on bag for inspection.
