Cozy & Small Guest House Near Calabogie
8/10 Good
"The bunkie was a perfect space for me, my husband, and our med and lg dogs. There is a beautiful view of the Ottawa River from the bedroom. The host has thought of almost anything you could need, from a guide of trails and attractions in the area, to a tie out on the deck for a dog, a variety of snacks for any type of palate, spices and oils for you to cook with, even instant oats and coffee or tea for the morning if you'd like. It felt very homey and warm, and we could imagine how warm it would be in the winter with the cute fireplace. I dropped one star because the one night we stayed here, the fire stick/t.v. didn't work for us (though we didn't reach out for help) and the bed could use a 2" or 3" foam topper, we had difficulty sleeping. Overall however, we were very impressed with this property."
Waterfront Beach Paradise - 3 Bed, 2 Washroom Cottage with Outdoor Bar
10/10 Excellent
"3rd time staying at this lovely cottage, this time we took our daughter, her husband, and 3 children, so 7 of us in all! location is fabulous, sunsets gorgeous, the addition of second washroom was great, as was the lovely outdoor bar area. kids had a great time in kayaks. Our son in law took his boat and boat launch was only 3 mins away! The only slight negative (which never affected us before) was because there was 7 us, and although no dishwasher, that really wasn't a problem apart from no plug for the sink, we figured out to put saran wrap under the mesh strainer did kind of keep the water in, the only other slight negative was only 2 hand towels for the 2 bathrooms and 2 dish towels and no dish cloths so we ended up using a face cloth and just rinsed dish towels out as no washer or dryer. However overall it was an excellent stay and those very small issues can be easily rectified, and indeed probably wouldn't affect you unless you were a large group. There were games there which we all enjoyed as we had to dodge the rain several times, and everyone enjoyed them, in fact we ordered Exploding Kittens when we got home. Highly recommend this lovely homely cottage!"

"Good place for a shower & comfy sleep after full day of bike riding."
Modern 4-season Lakefront Chalet with New Hot Tub & 4 Bedrooms: 1 hr from Ottawa
10/10 Excellent
"Having four bedrooms was great - it gave everyone their own space. Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Nice quiet and private location. Hot tub and fire-pit were great. Owner was very responsive to any concerns. To swim in the lake, you need to kayak out a ways as the area in front of the dock is marshy. We really enjoyed this cabin."
The Beacon - Lakefront Log Home for Families, a quiet summer or winter paradise!
10/10 Excellent
"Stunning view of the river. Very quiet. A short drive to great Gatineau hikes and picturesque biking on the PPJ trail. The dam trail is adjacent to the property. It is well worth the walk out and back. Use caution to note your bearings on the way out as finding the trail on the way back can be a challenge.Kitchen is very well stocked with tableware, baking and cookware. We especially appreciated having sharp knives and plenty of cutting boards. Stainless steel pots and silicone utensils make food prep safe for those who have food allergies. The Miele dishwasher and large selection of dish towels made it easy to keep the kitchen clean. We saw wild turkeys, porcupine, frogs, deer, Canada geese, hummingbirds, a blue heron and many other types of birds, all right on the property! We enjoyed use of the red canoe and kayaks. Note that the yellow kayak is only suitable for children or smaller adults. There is a selection of PFDs in various sizes.Outdoor firepit is sandy and safe and can accommodate many people. There are plenty of campfire roasting sticks for marshmallows and weiners and the firewood is well-organized and dry.The entire grounds and cottage are clean and very well maintained; an obviously well-loved family cottage. Thank you Anton and Karine for sharing your family's cottage. We hope to return next summer!"
