"This traditional Japanese Inn is thoroughly modern with excellent facilities, rooms, Michelin quality food, and helpful staff. We want to call out ‘Mikki’ who was super kind and helped us with any language barriers we had. The entire restaurant staff was amazing and we are grateful to meet the chef. "This hotel was easily one of the best hotels we stayed in Japan. The hotel rooms have a proper ryokan feel and the hotel staff are the nicest people I have came across in Japan. We didn’t even ask them for a shuttle pick up from our bus stop but a car with a driver was already there They provide free shuttle to and fro Sukurai station which I wish I knew from before. Oh and the views from the rooms are just exquisite. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat. My only regret is that...

"Such a beautiful place to stay! The Kaiseki experience and the traditional Japanese setting, we loved it! Staff is very friendly and even helped us to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Not to mention the amazing views while you are soaking in onsen. "

"Beautiful hotel, the monks attending are really nice, definitely go to the morning ceremony, it is worth it. This is near everything and very centric to all the landmarks nearby. The "beds" are pretty hard since its traditional, but its manageable for a night or two. Meals were really good, definitely don't skip them and take the chance to eat traditional monk meals. "

"Our stay at the hotel was excellent. The hotel is located in a very quiet area. The cleanliness and service/staff are excellent. The hotel has a shuttle service that takes you to the train station. Unfortunately, it only runs until the afternoon. The connection to Kyoto is okay. The natural surroundings of the hotel are beautiful, and you can be in the forest in a few minutes. This hotel is perfect for people who want to get away from the big cities."

"Incredible. The vegetarian dishes were the best we ever had. Our room, the semi-suite was luxurious and welcoming. The staff was friendly and spoke very good English. We do not regret going to Koya and staying at the Ekoin. It was definitely a highlight in our trip. From the ceremonies to the food to the cemetery tour at night with an amazing guide. "
