"Over all it’s a great experience. Facilities are very clean well preserved and maintained. Staff is very friendly and if you add the Kaiseki dinner (recommended) it can be served in your room. They have and all you can drink and eat of ice cream terrace where you can see the famous Tori gate in the water and the shrine is a few meters away. I got the ocean view room and it was incredible. Has a wooden shower room which is nice. It’s costly but I suggest you live the experience (specially the sunset at the terrace enjoying a few drinks). The only reason I wouldn’t stay again is because there is certain modernity in the room and I prefer a more classic, old ryokan experience with the same luxury and comfort but a more classic style. Oh and if you have tattoos this ryokan doesn’t let you use the public onsen areas but they can program you 45 min in a private onsen which is nice. "

"You cannot beat the location, as it is right on the main drag and across from the water, and close to the ferry. It’s also close to shops and restaurants. The staff is very helpful, as I had misplaced an item and they were able to hold it for me. The onsen in the basement is great. The tatami mats in the room are fine, and the futons are also comfortable. The bathroom is a bit outdated, but everything works."

"The hotel is beautiful, and the room was very comfortable. I would probably stay here again. The hotel is the last/first stop on one of the bus lines, which made it convenient for sightseeing. The bus is only every 30-40 minutes though, so you have to time things out or wait for the next bus. The island has a nice walking path around it, which was a fun addition to staying at this hotel! We had two issues with staying at this hotel. The public baths cost 2000 yen per person, and are very strict about no tattoos. We were not able to use this amenity even with tattoo covers, unfortunately. The hotel has a laundry service but does NOT have on-site laundry machines to do your own laundry. We were able to take the bus/walk to a nearby laundromat, because the laundry service was pretty expensive. "

"Excellent Hotel with lots of amenities and a wonderful onsen/ sauna. Great location for catching the 20 minute ferry to Miyajima island which is a beautiful, must visit. Going to peace museum is a lot more of a trek / train ride but it’s not too bad. Highly recommend!"

"This is a very peaceful stay away from the big cities; the traditional Japanese room was an enjoyed by our family of four. The meals are traditional which was a great experience for our kids but one can request American type meal if you’re not partial to seafood/sashimi or different textures. The shuttle is a big bonus as they picked up our bags in the AM from the ferry terminal so we could explore the area unhindered. The staff are very gracious and welcoming. I would have liked to spend more time to enjoy the surrounding nature and the friendly deer "

"The breakfast was great. Staff was great. Bath was nice. The room was a little less high quality in terms of finishes than I would expect from a place at this price level. And the dinners were quite disappointing relative to the price level and other meals we had with half board at other ryokans/hotels during our stay in Japan. Under seasoned and just not very excellent. Also disappointed that the dinners were French cuisine focused."
