We had a really pleasant stay. Welcomed on arrival, the room was clean and well equipped with a fan and a hair dryer. We were out most of the time but we slept really well and breakfast was excellent.

The Hermiston Guest House is a lovely and tidy B&B with gracious hosts and a really delicious home cooked breakfast. Phil was a joy and gave us several excellent recommendations for beautiful walks and views around the area. We really enjoyed are day and would absolutely recommend this B&B for your stay in the Lakes District!

Phil was a great host and was so kind to accommodate our late arrival/check-in. Great selection of cooked breakfasts to choose from and the whin latter room we stayed in was very comfortable and handyvit was on the ground floor. The local surrounding area of Keswick and Derwentwater lakes were beautiful.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hermingston. It was ideally placed for our walks & the bus stopped just outside which was great. We visited 2 local pubs for meals that were recommend to us which were in walking distance & both were really good. Would definitely stay at the Hermingston again

The breakfast came hot, well cooked and plentiful. The view over Skiddaw was beautiful. The B&B was in an excellent location, with easy access to all the Lakes and cumbrian coast. Easy access to and from the main routes.

Highly recommended! Very warm, friendly welcome from Phil. Very well organised and has lots of daily advice. A nice comfortable room with everything you need. An excellent breakfast too. A very enjoyable short stay, we would definitely return.

When we stayed at Hermiston, we were made to feel very welcome. The room was immaculate and there was also a very comfortable and cosy lounge for guests to sit in as well as a garden if desired. Breakfast was cooked to order and quality and presentation was excellent.

Phil and Helen took great care to make the breakfasts fit our needs with lots of choices. Great welcoming and conversation. We enjoyed our two nights. Comfy bed and though the shower knobs took a bit to sort out we enjoyed the shower after long days of touring and walking. Myriad thanks!

We thought the hosts were really lovely and the location of the guesthouse was ideal for us for walking. There are two pubs within walking distance which serve fantastic food: Coledale inn and Royal Oak. However, we had a downstairs room and seemed to have been really unlucky with the guests upstairs who woke us up every hour during the night. Thankfully, we were only staying a couple of nights as we were absolutely exhausted by the end. Would recommend a stay, just maybe ask for an upstairs room.

We highly recommend Hermiston. It's well located - easy to get to and find, just off the main road and a short walk to the handful of lovely pubs and restaurants in Braithwaite. You'll get a warm welcome and peace and quiet. The guesthouse is spotless with an excellent breakfast - just what you'll need before heading out.
