In the Weaving Shed of an attractive former textile mill, on the Pennine Way in North Yorkshire. The small rural valley of Lothersdale is five miles from Skipton and on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We offer bikes, many country walks, and the excellent water comes from an aquifer (no chemical treatment). Popular tourist towns of Skipton and Haworth are nearby.
* Shed End and my other place, The Workshop, are in the same building.
The space
Shed End and my other holiday home (The Workshop, sleeps two) are in the same building. I can therefore host five (or six if a further single bedroom - attached to the Workshop - is required). Please contact me with queries about this.
Shed End is an attractive private space on the edge of this compact village. It overlooks the beck, woods and hills. The property features period details, underfloor heating, woodburner and well-equipped bathrooms and kitchen. The separate double bedroom sleeps two, the mezzanine sleeps one. Guests can use the attached yard and meadow. Shed End is part of a wider scheme to convert this 18th century textile mill to residential and commercial use. The Great Wheel is reputedly the largest indoor water wheel in the world.
Guest access
Shed End holiday home, outside yard with private parking on either an outside yard or attached inside garage. Narrow lane leading to front yard.
Other things to note
Feel free to park in front of the main (green) mill doors, in mill yard, if you feel uncomfortable on the narrow back lane. Bikes available (in the attached garage), barbecue if required, washer and dryer are outside in the garage. I leave logs for one/two nights in winter, more logs for sale at cost price.
