Villa Siesta Hotel Istanbul Airport

10/10 Excellent

"We arrived a bit early to find our room was not quite ready. The staff gave us a nice coffee and asked us to wait 20 minutes in the lovely courtyard. The rose garden is beautiful with roses bigger than your extended hands! Someone has a green thumb! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. As with almost every hotel, they need more hooks for wet towels and clothes and more outlets for charging. We were in a fabulous room that overlooked the beautiful black sea. At night the light from the street seeped into the window that needs a better blind. The beds are very comfortable, and would be even better with 100% cotton sheets. We didn't use the fireplace although was wonderful addition in the room big spacious room with 2 sitting areas. The lighting in the room is plentiful. The shower was terrific with nice water pressure. An extra towel might be needed in the warmer summer days. Murat was terrific at breakfast when our friend visited and was also served breakfast. We left a nice tip! It would be less wasteful if there were a breakfast buffet since the Turkish breakfast is so BIG! The hotel location is perfect for a nice walk to the lighthouse and to many shops and restaurants along the promenade by the sea. The season seems to be just starting, so we wish every success for a wonderful 2026 summer!"

"The hotel has a typical European modern vibe, with appropriate amenities. Even though I prepaid for a "Premium Plus King" room, it was only averaged size. In fact, it didn't even have a separate bathroom, just a curtain to pull around the sink area; however, that may be part of the "vibe." No actual windows to the outside, as the hotel exists in the form of connected "pods" inside the massive airport building itself. The problem is the outrageous rates charged. The room itself was $423 US, and at the hotel bar, a single draft Efes beer was over $19 US. The room price was up to 10x the rate of rooms at hotels around the airport, which run from $33 to $100, although they require a short shuttle ride. They are finishing a Hilton hotel in the parking lot, a true luxury hotel, and hopefully this will drive the rates down a bit. If I had to do it again, I'd save hundreds of dollars and stay at one of the nearby hotels, and give up 15 minutes' sleep to take the short shuttle ride. In the US, the rates charged would be labeled "exploitive monopoly pricing," a form of price gouging. I can't recommend this hotel."

"Absolutely not sound proof. I was put in a second floor room right on the road and could hear everything including road traffic and planes. I asked to move to a higher room and they told me none were clean (at 5pm) and never followed up with me. The room was bare bones. No coffee machine, a/c not strong enough for the duvet weight, the shower rotated between hot and cold. Found quite a few hairs that weren't mine. Overall this is yet another hotel with a great online appearance that does not match reality."

"An excellent find on Expedia. We loved staying at the Navy Inn & Bungalows. My wife, daughter and I were looking for a short relaxing getaway and we definitely found one. Located close to the airport and a distance away from Istanbul, this place was exactly what we were looking for. We stayed in the family room which included two rooms (one double and a triple single), a big hot tub/ jacuzzi, a sauna room and an en suite bathroom. The room and amenities were excellent - though we would recommend a service of the hot tub and sauna room. The staff were exceptional in making our stay a pleasurable one. The food at the restaurant, on the site, was superb. We definitely recommend the "Clay pot kebab" - both for the spectacle of how it is served and the taste. Though the restaurant was a bit pricy, given the fact that there are not many alternative options around, the quality of the food and service was worth it. Thank you to everyone at Navy Inn and Bungalow's we look forward to another visit in the future."
