"Easy 6 minute walk from ferry. Incredible value for off season rate in late March that included an multi course , visually beautiful Japanese Kaiseki dinner and breakfast made of thebfreshest, delicious ingredients and served by a delightful diningroom staff. We were the only Western tourists there, but the reception staff know enough English to graciously assist you. They were kind enough to check us in 45 minutes early on a rainy day, without an extra fee. The onsen attendants didn't speak English and were a little flustered when we showed up to bathe at 8:25am (it closes at 9:00am) She tried to discourage us from entering, doubting that you will be done in time, but we pantomimed that we understood and would be done well before 9:00am. Unfortunately we had a very noisy family with children next door to us who didn't quiet down until 10pm. Futons in the room are thin, so we stacked them two and three high. Room had lovely water view. Easy access to the 3km path along the bay for wonderful birdwatching, feral kitties and lava geological features. "

"Loved our stay at this hotel! The bathing facilities and free amenities were probably the highlight of my stay. You can check how busy the baths are via the hotel tv in your room, so that was helpful in deciding when to go. Free late night udon and free after bath popsicles/yogurt were a nice plus. There's also a welcome dessert in your fridge when you arrive! I really enjoyed the manga library they have in the 'cooldown' room outside the baths. The location was also great since it was near a lot of the things we wanted to see and do in Kagoshima. Only complaint was that the room didn't have enough charging outlets or USB outlets, but it didn't effect my overall enjoyment of my stay. Would stay again and highly recommend! "
