It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. Confortable bed, welcoming staff, in the centre of the city but quiet. Restaurant has good breakfast, pool area is very small, it wont fit more than 4 or 5 people at a time. Good hotel to explore Kandy.

Really good value find. Room was huge, bed was incredibly comfy, staff were great, helpful and polite. The roof top pool / sun deck is great after a day sight seeing. Location good for getting around. 200slr for a tuk tuk to the cenrre or 10-15 min walk. Ony negative was the proximity to monk 5am chants and the noise of chairs in restaurant above scraping the ceiling late and early.

Like the idea that you can fill up the water in the reception - rather than giving the bottled water. The room was clean and quiet. Hotel in good location near the central market and the temple of tooth. We had a short but lovely stay.
