The pool and beach setting were incredible, the room was spacious and had nice amenitys, the beds were comfy and balconys had a stunning view. We upgraded to half board when we arrived, breakfast had lots of options, dinner was always really high quality food, however the amount offered did seem to depend on how many people were in the hotel at the time.

It was an amazing stay with my parents and my grand mother. Good access, nice pool, beautiful sun sets and most importantly, excellent service. Can improve on extra bed (for a triple room) and better range with the breakfast buffet (need sea food)

Me & my husband stayed at Ahungalla resort for 5days and we had an amazing experience. It was a memorable holiday. Initially we booked room only but upgraded to half board on arrival which was the best decision. Food was great and had lots of choices. Overall great place to relax 😊

Unfortunately, we could only stay one night at this fabulous hotel due to the end of our vacation. The hotel offers spacious, clean rooms with all the amenities you could need. The food was excellent, featuring a great variety and selection. The pool area is huge and very inviting. We regret not planning a longer stay in Bentota, especially at this hotel. We will definitely come back to this place for a longer visit next time! we

The property is showing its age and they are currently renovating which is good. The property windows to the restaurant were dirty and unclean which was disappointing having 2 days of breakfast and Dinner there. The location was good with easy access to the beach and appeared to be clean of rubbish. The facilities are in bad condition expect for the pools, I would rate this property as 3 1/2 Stay which was disappointing after staying at the Hertiance Kandalama

Arrival at Heritance - This is a very positive experience. You are welcomed with refreshments, a friendly smile and seamlessly checked in. The staff are lovely and will do everything. It is an old building which has been modernised with wide open corridors and spacious rooms which are clean. The bathroom is good quality and clean. We were so pleased that the shower had a hose in addition to fixed shower head. Pool - two pools both very clean with heaps of space to lounge You don’t need to leave the pool, staff cater for you with food and drink requests are well priced. Beach - the beach is sandy but we did not not swim because our travel is in the monsoon season and sea is rough. We didn’t feel we were missing much because the pool area was so good. Food - there’s a reasonably priced cafe with lots of options. They will actually make what ever you need work and are very flexible. There’s a pool bar and the Buffet is brilliant. With the exception of one night we ate at the buffet every evening. We were very impressed by it. There is lots of cultural options. We had gluten free requirements and this was easily accommodated. Staff - The staff are standouts. They are clearly well trained and their professionalism is indicative of good culture and leadership within the Resort. I can’t speak highly enough. Our late checkout was accommodated even though they were extremely busy.

Celebrated earth day with Air full of Kerosene

We were unfortunate to stay at this hotel on a day that they celebrated the Earth Day in 2023. We love, encourage, and actively participate in similar programs. The problem was, how the hotel management went about the celebration and their lack of planning. Hotel management decided to shut all electrical lights in the downstairs lobby area, then lighted kerosene torches. There were so may kerosene torches lit all over the area (including bar, near pool etc.) and the smell was unbearable, air was unbreathable. Add 100C temperature and humidity to the situation and it was absolute hell. What was the point of this stupid show? They probably added more pollutant to the air by burning all the kerosine for few hours than the greenhouse gases emitted to generate electricity. Stupidity at its best was in display at Heritance Ahungalla on 3/23/23.

Excellent location with 2 large swimming pool overlooking the beach. Plenty of beach chairs and the pool staff made sure that we stay comfortably in the shade enjoying the sea view. We stayed on all inclusive package and lots of choices of tasty food were available throughout the day. Excellent customer services by Shanduni, Varuni from the restaurant, Prasanna -cleaning staff, Raju from the bar. We will highly recommend this resort and definitely stay again on our next visit to Sri Lanka.

Need some work and service upgrade!

When I checked in there was a congratulation cake on the coffee table. I told them it was not mine. They came and moved it to the other room. That’s a Covid protocol violation. Toilet did not flush well at all. After using it I had to flush it at least 4 times. Hotel is beautiful. Average service. Nice swimming pool and the pool staff is nice.

Wirklich sehr schönes Hotel. Tolle Lager und guter Service. Wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben. Achtung es warten Taxis am Hotel. Für unsere Weiterfahrt nach Unawatuna/Talpe wollten sie 50$, wir haben hart verhandelt, haben abgelehnt und sind zum Gate gelaufen, die Fahrer sind uns gefolgt und am Ende haben wir nur 20€ gezahlt.
