The bed mattress was worn out as I did not slept well cos of feeling the springs and making noises every time I turn over and duvet was too hot as when it summer should be light cool duvet and winter would be perfect for that

Great stay in Newcastle. Staff was very friendly and it’s a fantastic location. We were in N.I. mostly for golf, which Newcastle offers a great location if you have a rental. All of the courses we played were within a 90 minute drive. For the price there could have been more to offer from the hotel. Breakfast was mediocre. The room was awesome, however, I thought I “upgraded” from a King Sea View to a Suite with a Sea view. Ended up paying more for no sea view. Putting green is just thin turf. The spa and its facilities were great! But, you only have access to the spa facilities the day of your “treatment.” The bar on site is very nice with a solid selection of cocktails and beer. Another downside is the lack of food after 10 pm. It’s either a pizza or cold sandwiches for the 24 hour room service. Overall, felt like an awesome place, just lacking in some areas where you don’t feel like you’re getting what you’re paying for.

The property is located right on the main street and therefore was a bit loud. The room was quite warm and with the windows open, the next door live music from The Wild Hare charmed us well into the early hours of the morning. Some might not like that "vibe". The staff was excellent. We were on our own when it came to parking and had to park almost a mile away from the property and get creative in managing bags to the room.

St. John’s Point Lighthouse was first exhibited in 1844. The original lighthouse was painted white. In 1902 three black bands were added. Its current markings of black with two yellow bands have been in place since 1954. The color of the light was changed from white to red on 1st July 1860. The tower was originally only 14m tall. It was extended to its current dizzying height of 40m in the 1880's and is now the tallest onshore lighthouse on the Irish coast. The lighthouse was automated in 1981.
