Positives:
Has great views over the Irish sea.
Nice quiet street with own parking spot.
Beach direct in front of door for kids to play.
Good WiFi
Negatives:
It's very small, be prepared for that if your staying for more than a few days
Full with damp unfortunately, so the 2 sofas plus Bed and bed sheets always feel 'wet', and a bit of odor with that too
Main areas and everything you need are clean, however I would not say the property is given a full deep clean if you look around all over..
Beds are not really comfortable in my opinion, our kids were not happy in the pull out sofa bed (7+11), maybe for smaller kids it's fine, but for 2 older bigger kids it didn't function so well..
A charming seaside cottage in Millisle just a couple of miles from our Donaghadee family and perfect for my elderly mother and myself. Everything we needed was there and I hope to rebook at some point.
We had amazing stay! The children had enjoyed the being right on the beach. They were able to pop over to the beach multiple times a day.
The cottage was cozy with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.
Lovely tidy, well maintained wee house in a lovely quiet spot. Enjoyed having our meals on the decking overlooking the Lagoon and sea beyond. Beautiful sunsets and sun rises and even spotted some seal pups on the rocks beyond the pier. Highly recommend this little hidden gem.
This cute little cottage had most things we needed (except a clothes dryer which we soon discovered is not included in most vacation home stays in NI or Scotland). The location is amazing, perfect for beach walks during our early spring stay, and close to a great food store that seems to specialize in providing ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook meals for vacationers. Also within reasonable driving distance to Newtownards and Belfast, and to many beautiful drives around the Ards Peninsula. Coming from Canada for a UK stay of 4 weeks, we had a lot of luggage and there is very little storage space for it.(After a bit of furniture arranging, our bags were kept on the floor in the living space.) This cute beach cottage is probably most suited to those coming from places not so far away, who don't need to carry around much luggage for their holiday. The owner was very responsive to the only question that we had.
Stay marred by frightening experience at 11.45 p.m.
Mostly very good, but a few things could be improved eg only 1 and 1/2 toilet rolls for 2 people for 5 nights. Only 2 very large saucepans in kitchen - need a couple of smaller ones eg to boil eggs. No egg cups, no milk jug. Only 2 small tea towels for the 5 nights. One of the couches in living area is well past its best and too uncomfortable to sit on - you sink to floor and can't get out of it. The dining table is a very large drop leaf and is far too big for the area - it needs to be replaced with smaller more practical one. The heating system requires easily followed instructions: when we arrived the cottage was cold but we didn't know how to start heating. We rang owner who told us to press "boost" for heat. This worked that evening but someone must have mucked about with timer (we didn't even attempt to try) and heat was not coming on except at strange times such as 3.00 a.m. and we had to get out of bed to put it off. We were lucky weather was do good! We had a very frightening experience on Monday night. We were wakened out of our sleep (11.45 p.m.) by very loud noises and thought either someone was trying to steal our car or break into the house. I hurried to front window, put on outside light and pulled back curtain to be faced by a strange man! I was very shocked - he shouted "sorry " and something like "getting my bin". He had pulled a wheelie bin right up and across the decking and then disappeared up the side of the cottage. Couldn't sleep afterward
Alles was aanwezig!
