Two Trees Inn

"Very nice property. We had two complaints on an otherwise satisfactory stay of one night: (1) the reservation for 2 adults provided a room with two narrow standard double beds. Evidently we should have reserved a queen bed. (2) You are guaranteed a LONG walk when checking in late. Most of the parking is in the rear and if the weather is bad (we had RAIN!) there is no access through the building. This was a design choice as the builder opted for elegance over convenience. Unfortunately, these issues cost our review a star. Otherwise the property is clean and comfortable."

Abbey's Lantern Hill Inn

"My stay at Abbey’s was wonderful! I stayed in the “Mystic” room. It was a very peaceful environment and I loved the tub. The breakfast provided was absolutely delicious as well! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that the bathroom smelled VERY strongly of urine… which made its way into the full room. I thought it may be the P traps so I opened all the faucets for a few minutes, but that didn’t seem to help. I ended up finding some room freshening spray that I used very often to help with the smell. I only stayed 3 nights, but if I stayed any longer I would’ve brought it up to the owner."

"The house location was perfect, perched on stairs above a grass lawn right on Wyassup Lake. Not for physically challenged people if you want to use the lake, unless you’re willing to drive down to the back of the house to avoid the stairs. You could have brought your own kayak or canoe as it would be easy to launch. The deck was spacious and sunny with two big umbrellas and lined with ambient lighting down the staircase for the evening’s enjoyment. There was also a large, quality gas grill and accessories to use. The double bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of hangers in the closet. The kitchen was fairly well equipped with dishes and pots and pans but lacking some small appliances like a coffee maker. There were a few missed cleaning items and missing cleaning supplies that would have been helpful for instance a long swiffer to clean the ceiling fan, and a mop to clean under the dining table but maybe I was projecting my own standards. There was a washer dryer and a laundry basket which is a great bonus in a lake house. Overall rating 4.5/5."

"it was a beautiful stay with amazing scenery and grounds. Enjoyed the whole weekend. The only downside was the sound of loud music and loudspeaker speeches all day coming from directly across the lake at some camp."

"Property is very well kept, but there are minor details that need to be remedied to have it earn 5 stars. First, it is listed as 1 and a 1/2 bath, this is simply not accurate. There was one full bath, which was exceptional, but then there was a sink in the master bedroom and an outside shower. A half bath implies a toilet. Fix the listing. One toilet for 7-8 people, not ideal. That was the major issue we had. The other items we could work around - no pot holders or trivets (if there were, we couldn’t locate them. No beverage glasses, only wine and coffee mugs. Another item worth mentioning was the placement of the tv in the grand room on the second floor. It should be moved to the corner and angled so those on the couch can see without a full turn of the head. Also, current placement of the tv makes watching during the morning hours impossible due to the sun glare from the beautiful window (that is shadeless).The last item worth mentioning is the sink in the master bedroom, while looking quite beautiful, was simply impractical and essentially non functional. If it is there only for water use (to drink), then put a sign - as there was no practical way to wash one’s face or brush one’s teeth. Please know we mention these things to make your VRBO listing the true exception that the house could be. Otherwise a very nice stay for our long weekend getaway."
