There is a Aeon Mall & Supermarket in 5 mins walking distance; that is the best point of the hotel. Limited hotel car park hence I have to park outside hotel which is chargeable. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We love the hotel’s Art Deco/contemporary luxury design, making it a truly unique and beautiful property. A lot of thought goes into every aspect from the impressive reception lobby to the luxurious bed linen. The welcome tea hosted on the Executive Floor lounge is a nice and hospitable gesture (well done)! Don’t miss going up to the rooftop garden. The views are amazing! The staff are helpful and friendly. Special mention of the Concierge Mr Amin who has a cheerful smile for everyone. The buffet breakfast is one of the best we have had. We will definitely choose to stay at the D’Kelly again when we next visit Ipoh. We wish the 1969 D’Kelly brand will carry across other Malaysian cities. Book it, you will not regret it.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Here’s why: 1. Poorly designed entrance: The main entrance faces sideways rather than the street and is beside a clothing store with mannequins, making it easy to mistake the entrance as part of the shop. As a first-time guest, I was unsure how to enter, and no staff were nearby to assist. 2. Potential safety hazards: The wooden floorboards in the lobby and corridors were uneven. Several boards outside my parents’ room were loose, with one nail visibly protruding. The lobby floor had numerous depressions caused by damaged boards, some hidden under a carpet. I stepped into one and nearly fell. Whether this was intended as a “rustic vintage” design or simply poor maintenance, it is a serious safety concern. 3. Poor housekeeping and maintenance: Both rooms were dusty, with visible dust on furniture and fittings. The cups in my parents’ room were caked in dust. Their bathroom sliding door was badly jammed, while the one in my room was misaligned and could not be locked. The room doors were also difficult to open. To make matters worse, my mother found a small cockroach crawling from under her bed. 4. Unprofessional staff: The front desk and housekeeping staff appeared to be young, amateurish people with little clue about hotel operations and customer service. During our three-night stay, none of the staff greeted us. The overall service felt cold, indifferent and lacking in basic hospitality. I will definitely not be returning.
