Jekyll Summer Vacation

We had a great week at the condo. It was very spacious. My daughters enjoyed their own bedrooms upstairs with their own bathrooms. Our 3 year old slept with us in the king bed in the main bedroom downstairs. We utilized the dining area for eating and games. We didn't really do much in the kitchen, but it was nice. The porches were amazing, especially the upstairs porch. Really a great place.If there are any cons, they would be slight. Nothing major. The tide makes the beach a guessing game for the most part every day. There were storms a couple of times while we were on the island, and the tide stayed high most every day we were there which meant the beach wasn't accessible. When it was, it was very much the Jekyll Island mud bath. Our family enjoys the southern part of the island the best in terms of beach, so that was a little bit of a letdown. We did have some trouble with the door code and the lock sticking a few times as well.None of that would specifically keep us from staying again.

This property delivers on what it promised. The Ocean is really in your backyard. The home was well appointed. Really enjoyed hearing the Ocean & being so close. I would stay again. Why only 4 Stars? The beds are small and had nice linens but were not comfy. Keep in mind, we are a large family. The smallest person is 5'6". Tallest 6' 4". So if your group is small in stature, you won't mind. The pool was fun. The entire community is cozy. I would definitely do it again, even with the beds. The place is "airy" and "feels good". The view is supreme on the 2nd floor, but it's not screened in, so take bug spray. But the swing is a gift!

Charming and Relaxing Getaway

Loved the cleanliness, decor, newness, spaciousness and setting of this wonderful house. My family could spread out and enjoy some time to relax and unwind. Easy distance to pool, great view of ocean from kitchen and second floor bedrooms and balcony (with swinging twin bed!). If you want a large beach accessible all the time, rent a golf cart for an easy drive down to public beach. Loved this place and hope to come back regularly.

Mislead

Disapointed..Not Oceanfront..entire view is blocked on first floor. You have to go upstairs and outside..not screened in and no fan working. Very upset. Photos show from living air condition area full view Not So!!

Great stay. Not much beach access at the location. We had to travel to go to the beach. And no view of the ocean from the downstairs balcony. Otherwise the unit was phenomenal and the location couldn’t have been better. Pool was great also.

Nice place

All in all a great place. It was a very clean condo, beds were comfortable and the open floor plan in kitchen / dining room / family room worked very well. Personally I enjoyed the balconies, listening to the surf and reading. The property management personnel were responsive as we're the HVAC repair company. The A/C cooling issue was addressed in timely, professional manner. The bicycles could use some attention and parking for visitors is problematic; nevertheless, I would absolutely return to this unit. It is a beautiful place to be. JK

Perfect View

I saw some other reviews mention worn furniture and yes, that is the case here - the cushions on the chairs, couch, and outdoor downstairs are worn and could be updated, but frankly, with this shower and view of the water - who could be concerned for furniture? The development is beautiful, pool was just right, and the multiple access boardwalks to the beach were great. We were here during the aftermath storm surge from the cluster of hurricanes off the East Coast and the water was wild and the view from this unit was stunning. This unit has two porches each with their own perfect view. We ate all of our meals on the porch with the exception of a few too warm nights. It was lovely, and a deer visited us in the evening. Sidenote: I have never had such a wonderful shower in a rental and the closet is amazing in the master bed.

Perfect Beach Getaway

Home was gorgeous and the accommodations made us feel right at home. Everything was there that we needed to enjoy Jekyll and the beach!! Beds were comfortable. Felt like home away from home!! We WILL be back to stay at the Cottages at Jekyll.

Looks just like the pictures

This was our first trip to Jekyll and won’t be our last. Accommodation was perfect: just like the pictures. Spacious and clean. Only thing that needed attention was the outdoor furniture. I don’t think that had been cleaned for a long time. Kitchen was just what we needed; others may find it lacking if you cook a lot, but we ate out a lot. Still had all the basics you would need. The addition of 2 bikes, chairs and beach toys was a really nice touch and definitely cuts down on your packing!!

Jekyll Cottage 51, Round Two

This is the second time we have stayed at Cottage 51. There are a few more kitchen items which was nice and different living room furniture. We love the ground floor deck and upper deck most at this cottage. Owners really should replace all the throw pillows though and have the removable cushion covers cleaned. Havent stayed here in 2 years and it looks like they havent been washed since then. Interior walls could afford to be painted too. We were excited to learn the the rental now includes bikes, but disappointed to find only one bike had a seat on it. We love The Cottages at Jekyll but will probably look for a different one next round.
