5/5 - Excellent
Plan to spend the better part of the day here. They say 3 hours but that is just not enough time to actually see everything.

Allow 1-3 hours; excellent museum , child-friendly
Interesting history, can be done in less than half a day.
VERY INTERESTING TO SEE. WAS THERE 40 YEARS AGO AND THINGS HAVE CHANGE SO MUCH, CHECK OUT THE FERRY RIDE THERE NEXT TO THE PARK THAT HEADS OVER TO THE TOWN OF SURRY, MY DAUGHTER LOVED HER FIRST FERRY BOAT RIDE
Great place to learn about the events and people who planted the seeds of America today. Exhibits on the first slaves and native American volunteers who showed life as it was then and their stories are truly engaging. A full day of learning from the collection and outside exhibits. Only complaint: super overpriced bad cafeteria food.
Museum is great.

The site of America’s oldest colony, this historical park offers an intriguing perspective into the lives of the country’s first settlers.

![The plantation received its name because it was the location of Captain John Smith's "New Fort," built in 1609, located directly across the James River from the Jamestown colony. The fort was quickly abandoned due to dry rot and a rat infestation.[4] The same land was later given by Chief Powhatan to John Rolfe as a dowry for the hand of Pocahontas when Rolfe and Pocahontas married. Archaeological surveys of the property have revealed that a number of structures have existed on the property and the present, restored main house was built by Jacob Faulcon in 1751.[6]
