The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we travel, but it hasn't stifled our appetite for exploring. Here are some tips on how to handle the new challenges of traveling:

• Know if any restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so remember to check in advance.
• When you go through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be required to briefly lower it to confirm your identity. Travelers who refuse to wear a face mask may be fined and denied boarding.
• Rather than handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it directly on the scanner yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now allowed in your carry-on baggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to remove it from your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• Put any personal items (phone, wallet and keys for example) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• If you're taking food on the plane with you, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for inspection.
