COVID-19 has triggered substantial changes to the way we travel. If you're planning a vacation in Islands Region, these tips will help you navigate these new challenges and rules:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before booking anything. Also check if there are any requirements you'll have to follow on arrival, such as installing a contact tracing app.
• You must wear a face mask at the airport, even at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, place it directly on the scanner yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on bag. It must not be larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• Remove personal items from your pockets, such as your wallet, keys and phone, and put them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• If you want to take food on the plane, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for inspection.
