Excellent. Everything I needed for a weeklong work trip when I was not going out to any restaurants and needed to be able to cook all my own food. The bed is not the comfiest but it was fine. WiFi connection was excellent. It was clean as well. The host is extremely responsive.
Clean, great location, cozy little place for a getaway. Close to everything, including restaurants and bars. Easy highway access. The only disadvantage is car noise and an occasional neighbor noise which are all uncontrollable.
Although this property is cute and in walking distance to many great things, this is what didn't work:
Traffic noise is very loud. Also, it is in a 4 plex and we could often hear others. Furniture was ok as far as comfort - not great, kinda cheap. No headboard for the bed. No curtains, and light came in through blinds 24/7. Bathroom sink is so small you can't wash your face. Short fridge, but the top of it had not been cleaned off, nor the placematts. The dryer was unusable, although they did give us a code for another one. Towels were thin and super cheap. We left a day early on a 7 night stay. Management was responsive and nice.
This unit is in a great location in central Houston. The Heights is full of bars, restaurants, locally-owned shops, and outdoor spaces for people of all ages. The neighborhood feel makes you feel like you are far away from the city center, when you are truly only a few minutes drive from Houston’s most popular attractions.
This unit is bright and airy, and perfectly appointed with contemporary, stylish furnishings and art. It was EXCEPTIONALLY clean and sanitized. The bed is reasonable in comfort and the kitchen has basic appointments, including coffee and tea. As a bonus, it offers gas cooking and filtered hot or cold water on demand. There is ample clothes hanging space in the bedroom closet and in the bathroom, which features a classic claw foot tub. Unfortunately, the tub only offers a handheld shower wand, and not a fixed, stand-up shower. Off street parking is available on a first-come basis, but there is ample street parking as well.
The building is an older structure with single-lane windows. While the heating and cooling is quite sufficient, the thinner walls and older windows do allow for street noise. While the neighborhood is fairly quiet for its location in the city, a light sleeper might be challenged without ear plugs or headphones.
The host and management company are very organized and very communicative. Check in and check out were easy and they were quick to respond to any messages.
This place was perfect for 2 people. It was very clean and we appreciated the little things like the water machine, shower soaps, and coffee. This was a great staycation for us and can't wait to book it again.
