We never even stayed at the property and I am currently out 1,429.82 due to extreme filthy conditions. Our son is battling cancer and receiving treatments at MD Anderson in Houston, TX, and there is absolutely no way he can stay somewhere where there are rodents present and such uncleanliness conditions. The owner did offer to have it cleaned while we waited at the property, but he also stated that he had video evidence that it had just been cleaned two days prior to our arrival. If that is the case, then the rat issue is a huge problem and someone most definitely slept in the beds those two before we arrived because the bedding was all messed up and dirty. Not to mention the dirty carpet, floors, walls and hair left behind in beds and bathrooms. Also, the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling and the explanation I was given from the owner was, “the people that stayed before us probably disabled it so they could smoke”. This is unacceptable for so many reasons. Vrbo has completely failed as well by supporting this type of service and we are already seeking legal action. This property is a complete scam and nothing that is listed on the website is the same as the current condition of this property.
