"We had a one night dinner, bed and breakfast stay at this pretty old coaching inn in the centre of Midhurst. The room was comfortable and clean, the pool and spa were excellent and the staff were helpful. While the quality of the food in the restaurant was good, unfortunately the service at both dinner and breakfast was poor, and we had to chase our desserts at the evening meal and had a long wait for our cooked breakfasts the following morning. However, this didn't spoil what was a relaxing...

"- Breakfast is very basic, would not recommend. Save your money and go somewhere else. - Bedrooms are very dirty and smelly. - Checked in to my bedroom which had a dirty toilet full of stains, the toilet would not flush properly. Water running thru the whole night. Sink getting blocked everytime you would open the tap. - Curtains don’t cover the window properly so you have direct sunlight coming into the room. - Windows are extremely thin so you would hear the cars, all thru the night. -Only positive thing is that the staff is very nice and goes above and beyond."

"The hotel was good for our stay for racing as near the course. However the breakfast was disappointing and the coffee was cold so I couldn’t drink it. We requested a refund for the breakfast and after some wrangling it was refunded. However what I am most disappointed with is the automated system the Copthorne chain now implemented and being told the staff can’t override anything. For example a later check out, which we requested cannot be arranged as a matter of discretion due to the system. Hotels are a hospitality industry and as such human interaction is absolutely required at front desk level and is very much appreciated. It falls very short in comparison to hotels which can accommodate requests and services, instead of being told “we can’t do this/that” because of a fixed system."
