「We had a lovely spacious room which included a small sofa, so it was comfortable to return to in the evening and watch tv. The downside was the room was at the top of the building up two flights of stairs, so not good for people with limited mobility or heavy bags. The ensuite was very small but the shower was powerful and the towels of good quality. Just a 10 minute walk to centre of Harrogate and restaurants.」

Only a 5-10 minute walk to get to the main attractions and lots of food options. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone staying in Durham. 」

「Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. We hadn’t met the owner, so decided it was easier just to clean them both before using them.

「Staying in the castle was an amazing experience. For those that expect modern facilities, please keep in mind that this is a very old castle that has been retrofitted.

「This was a very nice comfortable place. We had a little trouble finding it. Was easy to check in and out of. The only suggestion I would make was to put the exterior patio lights on a timer so that they turn off at night— if it’s hot and you have the window open then you have all the light from the patio. But it was very clean and comfortable.」
