It was just what we were looking for.
The rental process was easy. Access was easy. The house was clean and copious amenities were available. The location was central to many of our experiences. We felt like we were able to really learn the roads and felt accomplished when we were able to find our way without using Maps. The ocean right outside of most windows and doors was exactly what I wanted and the sound of the waves was perfect for sleep. Very loud at times but so what? Loud in a really good way. No problem with bugs, even when I did leave the screens open. Exploring the yard was fun - found the banana tree and had some wildlife visit. Just a lot of fun and a lot to explore. We had a wonderful trip. Thank you.

The most Amazing Place
Hard to summarize the detail and perfection. We vacation a lot and this home went beyond our expectations. From the beautiful sunrises with a 180 degree view of the bay to daily whale sightings to the amazing decor. We loved the full body spray showers and deep soaker tub. The kitchen was beautiful and well stocked. The beds and bedding were comfortable The house is in a nice neighborhood with only the sounds of the birds and the ocean. The ocean breeze was amazing at keeping the house at a perfect temperature The owners were only a text away with answers to any questions. The blender quit on us and there was a new one at the door the next morning check in and out was hassle free. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you Brian for sharing your amazing home in paradise with us!!!

Beautiful house with gorgeous views!
We had a fantastic time here! The house itself was gorgeous with all the amenities you could want. The kitchen was well stocked. The view of Hilo Bay was incredible and we saw whales every morning from the lanai. The house itself is a quick drive to downtown Hilo/the airport yet in a secluded neighborhood so you feel like you are in your own private world. The host was very responsive and check in was great. Check out was even easier! Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Great Stay at Absolute Oceanfront in Hilo
We stayed at the house for 4 nights in January and it was a perfect base for our vacation. The house lived up to everything that was written about it! It has a modern, well-appointed kitchen and living area that opens up to a lanai with an amazing view of the waves crashing right up to the shore. We watched the gorgeous sunrise each morning. The house has lovely furnishings, airy rooms, large lanais on two levels with ample outdoor furniture, plus a large grassy area on the side. All stores and attractions are close by. Stay here and you will be very satisfied with your choice!

Beautiful place
We stay in Hilo frequently and this is by far the best place we have stayed. Watched whales every day, great view from the deck. Loved the downstairs master, king bed, awesome tub. Brian was one of the best hosts we have staying with. This is his home and the decorating he has brought from around the world is fascinating. Very well stocked, every thing you need. Proximity to downtown Hilo is great. Love it, would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely home. Plenty of room for our family of 5, all the kids had their own bed. Great location on the East side of the island just outside of Hilo. Loved sitting on the back deck looking out at the ocean.

Excellent location!
We had a fabulous time at this location. It had great views, was close to things in Hilo, and offered wonderful amenities. We enjoyed our stay. There was the perfect amount of space for our family. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai and seeing and hearing the ocean. The family suite was an amazing space that couldn’t have fit our needs better!

Peaceful Seaside Retreat!
Beautiful property, equipped with everything you'd need for a great vacation (including beach stuff, toys for the little ones, great kitchen supplies)! We had thanksgiving dinner out on the deck. As soon as you walk in the door, the sound of the waves and the tree frogs make you feel like you're walking into a different world of nature and tranquility! One of the large beds in the downstairs was in a "nook" without complete privacy, which was fine for our family. It was nice to be able to space out the babies (one upstairs, one downstairs) so they didn't wake each other. Great location was convenient to town, a beach park and the sights along the Hamakua coast. We had a wonderful experience here!

Awesome house, perfect location. Brian couldn’t be a more gracious host. My only complaint is the trees are overgrown and they block the amazing view. Other than that, perfect house. Highly recommend.

Great place to stay for our family vacation
Our family really enjoyed the stay at this house. It is very spacious and is at a great location. As other reviewer pointed out, they don't offer shampoo and bodywash. It's not a big deal for me. It is not far away from walmart or target. You can buy your favorite shampoo and bodywash in the store. We didn't really want to cook but liked to dine in the house. The solution is to buy take-out foods from restaurants in Hilo. I would recommend this house.

Lovely!
The property is beautiful with lovely terraces overlooking the ocean, and a large kitchen and bedrooms spread out on two floors. We were a party of 8 and it was comfortably large for us. Brian was easy to communicate with and he had quick answers to our questions. We’d stay here if we visited again.

Hilo Paradise
The location couldn’t be any better. The house was spacious with plenty of room for our family of four and our parents. It’s a perfect base point for Hilo excursions. I recommend this place for extended family vacation. The only drawback was no toiletries such as shampoo were provided. Other than that we had a great stay.

House was comfortable for 5, had everything we needed to Cook meals and snorkel. Easy drive back and forth to town of Hilo. My only issue which was the lack of air conditioning along the coast in Hilo where it rains nightly contributed to the house initially being hot and musty smelling which took a while to get comfortable.

Michelle, considering that these exact words are the fifth paragraph of our description: "Cooling is provided by ceiling and floor fans in all rooms. If you open the sliding doors the trade winds keep it comfortable. Between June and August it can be hot and muggy on a few days which is part of being in Hawai’i. As is the norm in East Hawai'i, we do not have AC". It's unfair and unfriendly to penalize us for something we fully disclosed. Please read descriptions thoroughly and confirm before you book! Great coastal home!
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. Somehow I missed there was no a/c, and since we are colder sleepers, I worried about it. But we left the doors open and it worked out just fine. The home has plenty of space to spread out and everything was very clean and in working order. Beautiful home and great stay!!

Cool Breeze
Great house! Well stocked including boogie boards. Architecture and position on the lot helped keep the house comfortable in late June with the cool breeze off the ocean. Ocean breaking below was very tranquil. Great beach down the road. Quiet neighborhood.

enjoy the sound of crashing waves lift side
Great house for a family to spread out - spent much of the time on lanai - nice breeze - quiet all but the sounds of the ocean and spring peepers at night. Neighborhood just minutes from Hilo town where you will find ridiculously delicious restaurants.

Awesome property, beautiful views, great location
Immaculately maintained property. Very well equipped - furniture, pots/pans, spices, linens - whatever needed for a peaceful and fun stay. Views are spectacular. This property was gorgeous and in a stunning location. We could see waves crashing right below us and surfers in the water down the coast. Easy access to volcano National park, black sand beaches and rainforest. Out of busy tourist area. Quiet.

The house is absolutely beautiful. It is very spacious, and the views are amazing. The neighborhood is quiet, so it's a nice place to stay after a long tiring day. It was very drivable everywhere we went and with the amazing views along the route it was the perfect place to stay on the island. Great place!

Ocean view Oasis
Perfect stay for a family of 5 from ages 13-78. There was plenty of room, great bathrooms and showers and all of the amenities we could ask for. The kitchen was well stocked with all modern appliances and the beds were very comfortable. This home sits on a cliff over the ocean so the noise of the waves was ever present. If you don't like that, we recommend your stay elsewhere but since we enjoyed it, we would recommend staying here.

Wonderful Place.
Fantastic place with everything you need. Very comfortable, relaxing with main activities about 60 minutes away. Great to relax and watch the whales and dolphins go by while enjoying the ocean breeze on the patio. Owner was easy to work with and prompt on responses. We were three couples traveling together. Lots of good places to eat in-town if you don’t want to cook.

Oceanfront paradise
We loved staying at this gorgeous house! The oceanfront views are incredible from the lanai, multiple rooms upstairs and from the entire lower level. I loved getting ready while admiring the ocean from the large and open downstairs bathroom. That room was one of our favorites! The house is luxurious, beautifully decorated, well stocked, and spacious. We spent quite a bit of time on the large lanai watching a humpback whale and her small calf repeatedly breaching. The house is located on a quiet street a short distance from Hilo. It was an easy drive into Hilo for dinner. I highly recommend staying at this oceanfront gem. We hope to return someday!

Great house. Photos are very representative, with a some minor furniture changes. One thing to note is the master suite downstairs is one very large room with no doors between the stairs, beds, or the bathroom area (there is a sliding door to close the toilet area). Great big space, but not as much privacy downstairs; upstairs bedrooms both have doors. Sunrise in the morning overlooking the water was absolutely beautiful. Host is very responsive and friendly. Would love to stay here again.

Amazing views
This property had amazing views of the ocean right off the front covered deck! Listening to the crashing waves at night sleeping was perfection. The home was very clean and ready for us when we checked in. Hilo was a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. We easily drove to the Kona side for some of our sight seeing and only took about an hour and half to get there. The views were amazing and the home was only about 45 min from the volcano National park. The home was as described and we didn’t catch there was no AC but honestly didn’t need it anyway. The temps at night were cool enough for very comfortable sleeping! We had a 6 and 9 year old and they loved the house and all of the decor. Great place to stay and we would definitely stay again!

Would Stay Again!
My family had a wonderful stay at this fantastic home! We saw whales breeching from the balcony and loved hearing the waves crashing on the cliff below. The views of the sunrises and cruise ships coming and going were very relaxing. We loved the collection of artwork in the home and the big library, as well as enjoyed the steam shower, outdoor shower, and bidets. This was a special place - would love to stay again!

Fantastic location near Hilo with easy access to beaches, farmers market, and restaurants. Sunrises from the Lani were a great way to start the day (some of the trees have grown up blocking the view of Hilo). I would diffently stay there again.

Beautiful Hilo Home
Our family really enjoyed this wonderful home. Morning sunrises can't be beat with fresh brewed Hawaiian coffee. Very comfortable home. Good location close to Hilo on a nice street. We loved walking the old highway to the surf beach nearby. The host also made sure we happy and made us feel like his guests. We would highly recommend.

Spectacular House
What a great house and location. Overlooking the Hilo Bay, the scene changed every day. We saw pods of dolphins and the occasional cruise ship. If you like having your morning coffee, hearing the crashing waves, and relaxing by the water, this place is for you. Downtown Hilo is close and a trip to the Volcano National Park is only 45 minutes.
