"Very noisy in early hours from outside, vibrations from trams too. Very cheap, convenient for tram and area, but was noisy on the Friday night from people congregating outside."

"Room was clean but bed is not comfortable and covers could of been bigger and better also pillows not comfortable. Breakfast was ok but would like to get breakfast myself and have more continental cake pan cakes etc for child. Think doors need to be changed as u come in as kept banging and dont help with son ats autism. Stuff was very helpful and prices was not to bad "

"It’s a lovely old building with lots of character. Definitely needs some TLC but we enjoyed our short stay. Didn’t see the entertainment so can’t comment on that. Staff were ok but probably a bit lacklustre, the lady who checked us in for breakfast was nice, the bar tender was pleasant. Check in staff could have been more cheerful and welcoming. However would definitely come again. Breakfast was good."

"We’ve just got back from a 7 night stay in the Lakeside Retreat. We had a great week in the well designed lodge. Pro’s:Very light and airy.Huge Hot Tub Plenty of towels provided!Washer and Dryer meant we didn’t have to lake as much and also meant we returned home with next to no washing to do.Lovely quiet park.The lodge was clean but also had a hoover and mop bucket in which meant we were able to keep it clean for the week we were there.2x Fans were provided which was great as these lodges do keep their heat!Loved the little welcome packs.Smart TV’s throughout the lodge was great as well!Con’s:We struggles for fridge space as the lodge had a small integrated Fridge with small box freezer in the top taking up space. Personally we’d have been happier without the freezer so we could have had the full space in the fridge.The mattress was very springy and noisy. It wasn’t uncomfortable however we often got woken up during the night while we were turning over due loud bangs from the springs."

"The room looked better than the photos online. It was spotless and everything was just right - the linens, the carpet, the water temperature in the shower. Sam was an amazing host - when there was an issue with the booking and I encountered issues trying to resolve it with the booking platform - she was helpful and reassuring. My stay was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious - loved the granary bread and I forgot to ask Sam about the coffee - exceptional blend, I want to buy some. Highly recommended if you ever find yourself near the area. "

"The host declared the lodge ready for us to enter. On arrival it was absolutely freezing inside and was uninhabitable. I messaged the host to say it was very cold and she ignored the message. There was no heating on at all so as we still needed a place to stay we put the heating on and went back a few hours later. To make matters worse we were with our elderly mother who has terrible rheumatoid arthritis and we had to take her back home. It was supposed to be a family get together before christmas and it was completely ruined because of the lack of care exhibited by the host. "
