If you're spending some time in Higashimachi, Higashikawa Town History Museum and Higashikawa Bunka Gallery are top sights worth seeing.
We loved the special character of the hotel and our room. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

The was a nice selection at the buffet, but every dish was barely warm. Perhaps a cultural thing, but I would have preferred that the hot food was hot. Staff was gracious and friendly. Rooms were exceptional.

This house is really nice. It's new, clean and fully furnished. The garden and the view from the house is beautiful. We felt really relaxed there. You can spend an afternoon exploring the galleries in Higashikawa Town History Museum in Higashikawa.
A secluded little village, almost European feel to it. We rented bicycles at the visitor center and rode around the town. Daisetsuzan and Asahidake and Higashikawa would have been impossible for us without a car, so we rented one from Asahidake.
