「Think of it as luxury camping and you'll be happy. If your idea of comfort is umbrella drinks by the pool, you will not. Personally, I loved it. But it's not for everyone. This is a rustic cabin in the jungle. 4.5 miles off the main road, 2.2 miles of it is dirt (well maintained, regular cars not a problem). 15 minute drive to nearest civilization (the part of the description being in the middle of a historic town is inaccurate - it's 7 miles outside a historic town). 「The coqui are LOUD! The bed was fairly hard. The shower was tiny with only luke warm water. Alex was a great host, communicated well and even walked to the end of the road and helped us find his place in the dark. If you’re only planning to sleep here it’s ok (be mindful of the first 2 sentences). Otherwise “lounging comfortably” is not an option - bed and 2 dining chairs. Location was good. Not too far away from Volcanoes NP, and near enough to Hilo. 」

「The complex where this unit is located is in need of some extreme TLC. Once inside the unit, the unit is just ok. It was comfortable for sleeping and the shower had good water pressure. The kitchen pans are in really poor condition. The pictures make it look nicer than I felt it was. We knew it was a studio but the kitchen had no space whatsoever. There were no chairs at the pool and it was not an inviting space at all. The unit will be fine for some, but for me, it was not worth the cost...
