Rough River Lake House conveniently located by Axtel Marina and Nicks Boat Dock

The house has four bedrooms, three full baths and one half bath. It can sleep 12 people, with bedding available for an additional 5 people upon request, so it’s perfect for that big family or group of families. It has an open floor plan with a fully functional kitchen and dining room, that has seating for 10-12 at a time. The basement still has a bar area that is unfinished, but there is a great game room for entertaining in the evening or on rainy days! Nick’s Boat Dock does rent pontoons, which is an option for those without a boat, or you could head less than two miles down the road to the north fork campground beach to enjoy a couple days of just swimming.

Full Disclosure: There are security cameras located on the perimeter of the house for monitoring the property, since this property is in a relatively rural area. These cameras are only reviewed when there has been an issue with the property or a specific group. There are also 146 steps to get down to the water.

Perfect setup for inside the house with the rooms,beds, etc that we needed. But Couches old,saggy,uncomfortable and need to be replaced. Outside property and steps to the dock are poorly maintained. Steep driveway. We parked on top. Overall though, it was enjoyable 3 night stay

Beautiful Lake House

The house is beautiful and the water view is absolutely breath taking. The game room and kid’s play room was an added bonus and enjoyed by all. The host (Brandon) was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. I highly recommend this property and we hope to return in the future!

This was a wonderful Fall Trip for 11 ladies

We totally enjoyed this house. It was very clean and had everything we needed plus more. We thoroughly enjoyed the deck and the view of the lake was spectacular. We would definitely would come back again.

Amazing weekend getaway

We had a great time at this house. Although it is not finished yet it is like a dream house. We especially liked the kids play room it kept the kids busy the whole time. Definitely would like to come back.

Great Location To Marina

This is a wonderful large home with a view of the lake and super location to Nick’s Marina. Kitchen is very well supplied. Home was neat and pretty clean for a rental. Could use a deep cleaning. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Very nice home

We had a very good time at this property on the lake. Very comfortable beds lots of room. Location was just a little bit hard for one of our handicap people. Property is located at the bottom of a very steep Hill. We couldn't get the TV downstairs to come on and see anything. Overall it was a good stay.

Staff Retreat

The house was just what we needed for our staff retreat. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of kitchen wares. We thought we were going to run out of toilet paper but we squeaked by! And the only thing we didn’t bring that would have been handy was aluminum foil but we picked some up. Thanks for everything

Amazing reunion gathering!

We had a group of 11 friends and family scattered across the country who were seeking a somewhat centralized location to gather and enjoy some low key time together. This property fit the bill perfectly! From the earliest planning stages (a full year beforehand) to while we were actually onsite, Brandon was in regular communication with us to address any and all concerns or questions that we had (and things did get complicated with date and guest count changes). So absolutely first rate in that regard. The property itself is beautiful and extremely functional- it should meet the needs of any group ranging in size from 6 to 12 people (more if you don't mind using pull out sofa-beds, etc.). Slight ding on the cleanliness at check-in due to some things the cleaning service had missed, but I am confident these were an isolated occurrence. Overall, a wonderful VRBO experience!

Great Getaway!

We were there for a girl's weekend with a party of 12. We had plenty of room to spread out and the main room was good for visiting. It was all that I expected and more. The home is beautiful, with a gorgeous view. It is easy to get to and close to all of the things that you may need, but has a feel of privacy to enjoy the lake and nature. The home provides everything you need, upscale kitchen, wonderful bathrooms and plenty of sleeping space. The master bed was so comfortable! There is an extra empty room for blow up mattresses. The basement isn't completely finished, but does have a finished bedroom and bath. We enjoyed the view from the deck and a few of us ventured down the stairs to spend some time on the dock. The stairs to the dock are a workout, but that is my only complaint. Once you make it down, it is a beautiful view. Make sure you pack for awhile, as you won't want to go back up and down often. We looked forward to a night around the fire pit, but it rained each night so we didn't get to enjoy that. I highly recommend this home for small or large group getaways. Brandon was very easy to work with and responded to my questions and comments right away. Enjoy!!

Wonderful house for a family gathering!

Brandon's house was a perfect place to gather for a Thanksgiving get-together. He was helpful and communicative, the check-in process was easy, and the house was well-stocked and clean. We loved the view of the lake, the ping-pong table downstairs, and the playroom upstairs. We loved the big table and plenty of chairs for our large family! Would highly recommend staying here!
