Great stay

Everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Joy the host always got rite back to text and was extreamly helpful. The yard and beach are so nice. Lots of room for fun family games.

Get away with my kids

This was the perfect home base for our kayaking adventures. We had a wonderful stay as everything was exactly as described. Plenty of room for my small kayak trailer, the available charcoal grill was an added bonus

3-Day Weekend

Had a great time! Property is located on a bay with a sandy beach area. Beach is walkable, which is very nice to walk along the shore and skip rocks.

Private Beech Getaway

Beautiful view and access to the beech on a nice gated property. Kitchen and bathroom were not the nicest but very usable. Biggest downside was the master bed was very uncomfortable and quite squeaky. Would consider staying again possibly

Relaxing spot

The VRBO is comfortable, unfussy and well-provisioned. A great place to just hang out and relax. The beach is unpopulated and a good spot to watch the always-changing water. We discovered some interesting places to visit nearby.

Great way to start the summer

We had a wonderful time - the property was just what we needed and the surrounding towns were great! It was everything promised in the description and more! It wasn’t fancy but we didn’t need fancy - just comfy and cozy! Great hosts - easy to work with - very private and quiet.

Favorite Beach Spot

Our third summer staying here and it did not disappoint. The beach and view of the stars are our favorite. The kids were disappointed that the large hammock was gone, but still had so much fun. Can't wait to stay again next summer!

Each day we felt subsequently more relaxed and immersed in nature. The stargazing was wonderful and the private beach a major plus. We felt safe and unbothered. And the nearby town was cute, good restaurants and friendly locals. Would highly recommend!

Great semi-private beach on Lake Huron. Bring water shoes, because it’s rocky. There was plenty of space inside for our family of four. Everything was clean and in good condition Heads up that the images posted are of both sides of the house.

Family Summer Vacation

Our stay on the private beach along Lake Huron in the quiet Thumb Region was really wonderful. My children enjoyed going out to the beach, feeling safe, and especially liked the twin beds on the upper level - their own loft and hideaway. The property offered all it boasted. It would be better to have the duplex home listed as 2 separate vacation homes. It was difficult to tell which listing was the property we were staying in. We didn't mind having neighbors but we didn't understand they were joined. Love this region of Michigan. We hope to be back.

family reunion

We love this property. It allows my elderly parents a short and manageable walk to the beach, and benches that they can sit on to enjoy the water that they grew up on. Having both apartments allows the family to spread out (there were 10 of us) and access to both kitchens, refrigerators and the washer and dryer, helped with our reunion preparations. My older bones didn't appreciate the fold out futons, but the recliners in #1 were very comfortable and easy to use to catch a nap. The Dollar General located easily in town provided easy pick up of the charcoal and laundry detergent we needed. We appreciated the night lights through the house as it got very dark in the evenings.

Peaceful and beautiful

Two of my cousins and I stayed at the Tan's property for a family reunion nearby. We plan to stay in the other duplex next year. The owners are available if you run into issues (we did not). The duplex is lakefront and secluded. Both sides have a lake facing patio with seating. It is clean, with all necessary amenities included. We did not turn on the TV so cannot address reception there, but we did use WiFi and that was ok.

Great spot to enjoy Lake Huron and the Thumb area

We had a wonderful stay. The beach area was quiet and well tended. Plenty of places to play and explore. The owners were quick and responsive when something that was stated to be in the cabin was not and brought it over. We had comfortable beds and warm showers. We were able to star gaze a little without having to head to the state park. We saw a beautiful blue heron that lives in the trees as you cross the bridge to the beach. I would recommend an update on the cooking pots and pans, there was only one small pot for cooking (the lobster pot was too big for simple oatmeal making) and one of the frying pans was very warped and made for an uneven cooking surface. I know many families choose not to cook while on vacation, but we used the kitchen often and that was one place that could use a little refresh.

An amazing beach house

This house is amazing for a perfect get away with friends and family. The hosts are really nice as well! We were the first ones to book this place and the Tan's made sure we were properly accommodated! It's a cottage by the lake and has a private beach. It was great going in the water with no one around. Private beach has a fire pit where we cooked our dinner one of the nights and it was fantastic. The beach also has a hammock. Just by the cottage there is a big yard. So we made full use of that by playing petanque, spike ball, and other games. The town is small but you can get groceries and there are very few restaurant options. However, the kitchen is fully equipped with cooking pots and pans and utensils. So we used that for our breakfast and lunch. We really enjoyed our stay. We're already planning of returning back here sometime next year. This is a great place!
