"Lovely hotel. The room was a bit small but well organized. Space is often an issue in city hotels. We enjoyed the amenities, the happy hour and the coffee maker in the room. Staff was very pleasant. Location was very central with a huge variety of Asian cuisine. Our stay here was the last 2 days of our 22 day trip and we were happy to lay low and enjoy the quiet ambience. Plus we visited the cultural museum and art museum. . The cultural museum would be of interest to people heavily invested in New Zealand history, and displayed the pride of New Zealanders contributions to world politics ie: . The world war displays were well done. The majority of the art museum , which was literally across the street and free entry, was far too abstract for me to appreciate. By design, it seemed it would be best enjoyed by those who would understand the materials and cues of the local culture. Would’ve been a pleasant and easy 20-30 minute walk to the harbor if we chose to do go that direction. Loved the hotel ."

"What can I say. The house in Ponsonby was perfect for our travelling party of 5 (with 2 young kids). Our final stop on a North Island circuit for 5 nights!We had an issue with the hot water not working on Day 1 (due to a blown fuse), however the host organised a technician within 24 hours and also offered a small refund. So a tricky experience was turned into a good one. Communication was 8/10, could have been better if the host was slightly more prompt and accurate with the messages regarding the fixes.The property has old school charm and is extremely functional for any group of travellers. It has everything you might need for a comfortable stay.While these are all on the listing, the things we appreciated that little bit extra were; Ponsonby Rd on doorstep, reverse-cycle heating, the shower was amazing, proximity to public transport, feeling safe welcome in the community.We'd happily stay at The Ponsonby house again.
