Great Pulteney Street

Consider when booking this hotel that is the middle of nowhere even though is only a mile from the airport but there is nothing to buy food or anything. Is a very basic hotel. Staff was helpful at check in. The room was very clean and the shower room is good and clean too. But is a hotel to go and sleep for a few hours and that’s it. They charge for parking. £15 the night. They didn’t mentioned that when I booked.

If your not familiar with hostels, your in a for a bit of a shock. There is 12-15 rooms that share 3 bathrooms. 2 break areas with a fridge and microwave sink etc. The dishes and some food are communal. Be aware sharing is not required but there is little space to put things in your room. The bed was small and thin more like a mat, not a traditional mattress. It was very firm. Pillows were rather hard as well. The heat was not working in this room but it had a space heater, that seems typical in Europe. The shower and bathroom areas could use more cleaning as hair. shaving residue and toothpaste was in the sink and shower. Dirty dishes in the break rooms. Paid daily housekeeping would help. The establishment was a little rough around the edges as a whole, but if you’re on a tight budget it will meet your needs. Just takes a little getting used to. It takes a lot of independence and adjustment.
