2.5/5 Stars Our stay here was a bit of a mixed bag. Upon arrival, we joked that we'd somehow entered the Twilight Zone – the vibe was more "motel" than "hotel." The staff were friendly enough, which was a definite plus. Our room was clean, for the most part, but we did notice that the spare pillows had some noticeable stains. Not a deal-breaker, but a bit disappointing. The real issue, though, was the overall atmosphere of the place. It felt deserted, like we were the only guests. The decor was straight out of a classic Western film – think tumbleweeds rolling down the sidewalk at any moment. While it had a certain quirky charm, it didn't exactly scream "luxury" or "modern amenities." If you're looking for a no-frills place to rest your head, this might be okay. However, if you're after a more hotel-like experience, you might want to look elsewhere. Perhaps a bit of renovation and some added amenities could elevate this place from motel vibes to something more impressive. For now, it's an average stop poor stay

The rooms have no Air Conditioning so it was very hot and very uncomfortable to sleep. And the Road works next to the hotel ruins the mornings if you wanted lien.

Hot water fluctuated. Central location handy for walking about town. Staff helpful, especially at breakfast which was filling.

Clean and tidy. Best of this type of hotel I’ve stayed in for the Colchester area. Hot and continental breakfast. Tables needed clearing though. Very little staff presence. Clean and basic rooms with no bad smells. Same goes for linen and towels. Easy parking. Easy route into Colchester. Very happy with my stay.

The staff lovely,, I felt really welcome, they genuinely care about their customers, it was nice to chat to them,, they answered any qs& queries, the room was stunning, I was put in the nicest room, breakfast come with the stay, it's a wedding venue, it's nice to see the guest get ready for their weddings, there's a town 30mins down the rd, with a nice Romanian cafe, The reason why I didn't score it 10/10 was just because from the motorway, the fumes got in to the room.. we were put right next door to someone, who happened to snore, it is on the M11 where it's hard to get to.. unfortunately I wouldn't trust Uber& the restraunts not open until the evening
