Was not what we expected, pictures sure did it more justice. No elevator to take suitcases up. Flights of stairs to haul luggage. Older place than expected. I stayed in Lexington Kentucky the night before at a brand new facility, Hilton, got breakfast included, and paid a lot less.

I stayed here for 2 nights on a Christmas trip to Gatlinburg, my room was on the Mountain Lodge side on the creek. This is an older lodge but my room was spacious, well lit, clean and comfortable. I enjoyed hearing the creek at night. There are outlets and charging stations above each nightstand. Breakfast is not included in the room price, but there is a cafe on-site that has very reasonably priced basic breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, toast). They even kept the cafe open for breakfast on Christmas day since most restaurants in town were closed. From most rooms, you will have to walk outside to get to the indoor pool but it is really nice - good size, good temperature. There is also a hot tub in the pool area, very good temperature but tends to get crowded. The pool towels are rather small , but they are the same pool towels most hotels have these days and you can just use 2 if necessary. I would have given this lodge a 5, if not for the shower diverter broke on the second day in the middle of my shower and I could only get ice cold or scalding hot water to finish up. You can walk to town from here, but keep in mind it's uphill on the way back - I didn't have any problem with that but if you do there are parking lots closer to town on the same road that were charging $10. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Booked this hotel with a jacuzzi in the room bc I needed to soak from skiing, it was a little more than I wanted to pay but I took the chance. When I get into the room it was cute. Old time-ish which doesn’t bother me at all. What kills me is how you have a jacuzzi in the room but the hot water heater does not hold enough hot water to fill the jacuzzi to (at the very least) the jets!!! I call down to the office and they say to allow it to heat up again. I keep checking and nothing with the hot water. I fall asleep and decide to try again in the morning. When I wake up I go straight to try to fill it again and there wasn’t any luck there AGAIN! The staff was nice but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. It’s a little loud as this was during the busy season and there isn’t an elevator so if you have a lot of bags you will have to go back and forth. But hey we all need a little exercise. :)

The pool was a big hit with the kids and the balcony overlooking the stream was relaxing!
