"The villa had nice charm, we enjoyed meals together under the pergola. Hoped to use the pool more but it was freezing, good for a quick dip and then out. Villa was fairly well equipped but be prepared to go right to the market to buy, toilet paper, dish soap, dishwasher soap, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner. In the US these are provided."

"The communication from Mike throughout was excellent. The property itself was spacious, well equipped and has several terraced areas, which are perfect for either a large family or 2 x families. "We stayed in one of Giulio and Marco’s new apartments for a week and had a fantastic time. The amenities, pool, olive groves and sunsets are beautiful. It was easy to get to Pisa and Lucca (20 min) each. Giulio was extremely generous with his time, giving us a detailed tour of the farm and explaining how he is planning to increase biodiversity. The farmhouse is quaint, well supplied for making meals, comfortable, and the views are stunning. You can walk to the nearby village and get staples, cheese, fruit, and bread and meet the owners. "It's a long drive up winding hills, but once you arrive in Sassi, you can forget about all your worries, sit back and relax. The main farmhouse and the cottage are both well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The pool was a godsend on especially hot days, especially for the children, who spent hours playing Marco Polo and other water games well into the evening. Our host was extremely helpful and was a walking encyclopedia of information about the surrounding areas, too....

"We rented all three houses for 12 people, which worked very well. The grounds and the area are typically Tuscan, very charming and beautiful. The propertymanager is very helpful and available. The poolarea is particularly nice and the teenagers spent all day there :-) Nearby you’ll find Lucca, winetasting, hiking and many other activities. Highly recommendable."

"While it takes a little bit of getting to this place, it is beautiful and sublime. Poggio is a small commune set on a hill overlooking the beautiful Serchio Valley. The views from the back porch in this unit are truly spectacular. You can see the valley and the neighboring villages, many of which have hillside fortresses and churches.
